Are Wallpapers Copyright?

Hi, i wanted to make a website and i found this picture online that i really liked, i was wondering if all wallpapers are copyrighted. i found the picture here: http://www.ewallpapers.eu/3D/Abstract/Interesting-3d-shapes.html However, there doesn't seem to be any contact info about the creator, which i wanted to ask him for permission to use his/her image. Would i be able to use it?Are Wallpapers Copyright?
It depends on the artist. Obviously all of them have no issue with you using the picture as your desktop background or they wouldn't offer it up on a site for download. The issue becomes a lot more gray if you want to use the image for something else obviously.



Since there is no contact information with that background though what's the worst that could happen? If you do want to use it for something else I say go for it, unless it's for something you're going to make money off.Are Wallpapers Copyright?
