My friend claims the Alluminum cases are better because they stay cooler, is this true?? I mean it wont make a hot video card run cooler im sure. Iv'e never had a case get hot, not sure what exactly he's saying. Are Alluminum cases better than steel?
Good airflow will be the decider regardless of the case. If you have poor airflow any case will get hot. They are lighter and less prone to rust I suppose but when was the last time either of those were a problem. Are Alluminum cases better than steel?
If you can find a case that meets your airflow, features, and price range needs then by all means. Aluminum cases are very nice, and lightweight too. Lugging my case around kind of sucks, filled with as many copper heatpipes, HDD's graphics cards, PSU etc... gets pretty heavy. especially taking it to a LAN party. My friend has an aluminum case and it is much lighter.
In short, you won't see any disadvantage to steel, but aluminum is nice to have.
alluminum cases are nice...stronger and lightweight...they're better at dissipitating heat than steel
alluminum cases are nice...stronger and lightweight...they're better at dissipitating heat than steel
This is what the OP's friend is probably trying to get across. Aluminum has a higher Thermal Conduction rating then Steel.I'd personally go Aluminum over Steel in a heartbeat. The weight issue alone has me sold on Aluminum.
i like my anodized allunimum antec over my old steel case much, much more. it is stronger, lighter and cooler
