DX11 backwards compatible!

I read this a few weeks ago on N4G.com

and im not sure if many people know about this so i thought i would bring it up to tell all of you! if its already been posted my mistake!

i did look back at some DX11 posts saying you need a DX11 card and you will probably need windows 7 which is not true although you can use this combination for DX11

DX11 will be backwards compatible so if you have a DX10 and windows vista you are all sorted already for DX11 gaming, hoping that your card will last that long to keep up with the graphics intesive games though lol

i would link you but i cant remember it but im sure 99% its officialDX11 backwards compatible!

dude, that's not what backwards compatible means.backwards compatible means that you can play DX10 (or DX9) games WITH DX11, but not DX11 games with DX10 hardware/software.
lol
Hopefully DX11 will be a little bit more impressive than the uber faliure that is DX10!
Just for the record, Windows XP is never upgrading past DX 9.0c right?
Hopefully DX11 will be a little bit more impressive than the uber faliure that is DX10!
I agree. Although there are subtle improvements with graphics in DX10 (if you look carefully and attentively), the hitch in FPS makes it a step backward, sorta say. For once, I'd like to see a new DX** show improved graphics AND increase fps, not decrease.

never but as posted earlyer dx 10 = fail so don't worry
I would like opengl to make a comeback and keep things interesting, then I can play more than just Doom 3 in linux :).
lol
You could play...CAD? Most of them use OpenGL IIRC lol. Seriously though from what I remember of playing games in OpenGL there wasn't a lot of difference and Linux isn't a massive platform. Maybe in a few years when the EEEPCs have enslaved the earth lol.
