How Good of an Upgrade?

Currently , my moms computer has 1gb or ram and its running xp.I am either going to upgrade to 2 or 3gb.Which would be better if I play games such as Warhammer Online , WoW, and CoD4 at 1024x768 resolution?I am considering getting a 9800GT graphics card. How Good of an Upgrade?
Well what processor does the computer have? Also 2GB will be enough for any program in XP. Make sure you have enough power for that graphics card. Also, you may want to check out the HD 4830, it performs a bit better, may be the better deal depending on availability and pricing. How Good of an Upgrade?
What is your current graphics card, and are you asking if the 9800GT is a good upgrade, or if the 2/3 GB of RAM is. Also, what processor does she have and PSU, because if you upgrade the GPU, you probably will need to upgrade the PSU.

I have a Dual core 3.0ghz processor and a 650 watt PSU with 25 amps on 3 of the +12v rails.Edit

Since you are running XP, 2 GB of RAM is enough and I would suggest getting either a 4850 or (if you want to spend a little extra) GTX 260 or 4870 for the GPU. Then you can max everything :)
The 4870x2 or just the 4870?This dude at my local gaming cafe hase 2 4870x2's:D
The 4870x2 or just the 4870?This dude at my local gaming cafe hase 2 4870x2's:D
a 4870x2 would be a waste for what res you play at. A 9800gt would be fine for that res.
When you upgrade your RAM, just make sure you are doing it in a way that will ensure Dual-Channel mode. Going with 3 gigs will most likely turn off Dual-Channel mode. And really, with XP you don't need any more then 2gig. For the graphics card, it depends on how much you want to spend. The 9800GT is awesome performance for the price and the 260 GTX cards are a lot of muscle, without being an absurdly expensive price. I don't know for sure, but I'd guess that you would max those three games at that resolution with a 9800GT. WoW for sure. That game doesn't need a whole lot.
For sure get a 2nd gig of R.A.M plus any video card that you can afford. The 4870 or 9800gtx are great cards.
