So I have a front USB-port that I never use on my new custom-built computer.I decided to load my tablet through the usb input (the tablet has worked for years), and when I plug it in it says something like ''Windows can't read corrupt USB device'' I say okay, so I plug it in through the back and nothing! It won't even register! I plug the tablet into my friend's computer, no longer works!
I later plugged my ipod through the same input, and the same message popped up! I tried plugging it in through the back of the computer, and my room mates computer, and it won't even register anymore!
Did this $#%^W#$%@#W$ stupid USB input ruin my devices? Please help, USB input ruins device

Ahh mate, tough luck, the same same thing happened to my External HDD. Completely fried it..:(
four_of_clubs, try this before you give up hope. USBDview I've have some very good success with this wonderful little tool. It's freeware and very tiny. Just make a folder, unzip it and run the exe. Find the device on the list that is giving you problems. With the right mouse button, right click it and pick the ''uninstall device'' option near the top of the context menu. Follow through and close the USBDview program. From there, plug the device back into your computer via whatever port you wish. A device ID will be assigned to the device via the port you picked and it will relink it to your machine. Now this may solve the trick, it may not. I say it's worth a try. Again, I've had very good luck with this tool in similar problems. Good luck.
