My cpu seems to always and I mean always use 1-3% when I'm doing absolutely nothing. Is this just my computer or is this normal and how Vista works.I went to task manager and the two processes that seem to be the cause are dwm.exe (Desktop Windows Manager) and siderbar.exeCan Vista users tell me if this is the same with yours. Thanks. Normal Vista idle CPU usage?
Fine, you probably have timers that constantly run checking for changes here and there..Normal Vista idle CPU usage?
DONT PANIC!Its completely normal
Thanks guys I wasn't sure what to make of it.
Thanks guys I wasn't sure what to make of it.
your welcome :)
Its normal, but you might want to turn sidebar off... its pretty useless.

Your computer is never doing ''nothing'' there are dozens of services running at any one time on any modern OS.

Its normal, but you might want to turn sidebar off... its pretty useless.
agreed
I guess it depends on how you use it. I love the sidebar, and is one of the best features of Vista, IMHO. But yeah, 1-3% is nothing, my XP PC does the same thing.
My XP is always at 0%... If im just watching task manager and no other apps loaded. Vista at 1-3% under the same circumstances.
