I just got my 2nd HD4870 in today and installed it in Crossfire configuration. After my computer booted up it asked me if I wanted to enable crossfire and I checked the box next to it. I can also see 2 HD4870 cards in device manger. There are 2 problems though.1. When my computer first starts I can't see anything on the monitor till it asks for my login password (I'm using Vista 64 bit).2. I've only tried 2 games with it and Oblivion works ok, but the Crysis demo has problems. There is a major graphics problem with objects in the distance looking like there is a giant discolored shapes on them. I don't know how to describe it. Plus I can't really tell any fps improvement. Is there anything I can run to make sure my new Crossfire setup is actually working? Crossfire issues
2 things that come to mind,1) Is your PSU supplying enough power?2) Are your drivers upt-to-date?Maybe there is some other setting that needs tweaked with crossfire, i wouldn't know never used it..Can you take a screen of the discolouration?Crossfire issues

I went back and looked its more like objects in the distance appear and disappear like their flickering on and off.
i read somewhere there was issues with crossfire and crysis
Nah it was kinda fixed, not quite running as good as a sli setup but it works perfectly fine.also the demo isn't the best benchmarking tool, that is buggy as hell period.get the actual game then update it fully (and hotfix) and then benchmark it. Crysis works fine for my setup with it, I've got two sapphire toxic 4870 in this rig at the moment and they smack crysis in the head at my resolution on high and very high.

I only wanted to get the full game if I was sure it would run well on high quality settings. Is there a demo I could try that would be a good indicator of whether its running properly or not?
Looks like it's a driver/ demo problem, ....http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=64773
