tweaking your newly built PC... Monitori ...

I finally ordered parts for my first PC that I am building from scratch. I am not very familiar with how to tweak it though, I hear alot of things about overclocking and such. What parts of the PC do you overclock? The MOBO, the RAM? And I would also like to know what are the benefits of overclocking, is it harmful if you overclock to much. I also hear things about BIOS, I am not familiar with this at all, when I start up my PC for the first time (I am using Windows XP) do I have to adjust the BIOS. What are the benefits of doing this and what does it change on the computer? Any insight on this would be of great help, I would really like my computer to run great and have as little problems as possible. Thanks for the help. tweaking your newly built PC... Monitori ...

Radeon 3870 isnt too good, i used to have one until it died on me. dropped an 8800GT in as a replacement and it was much better.
Not sure how well the phenom overclocks, but you'll need to enter your BIOS to change the ram voltage I think Reapers require 2.2v to operate correctly.Press 'Delete' just as your boot your computer to enter the BIOS, you should be able to find the ram voltages fairly easily. EDIT: The 3870 isn't that bad, depends on his budget or how much he paid for it.
